School

When does the new academic year begin?

The new academic year in DeepJyoti School begins in the month of April.

What is the medium of instruction and communication in the School?

While English is the primary medium of instruction and communication, we aim at easing the children slowly into it, rather than imposing it on to them. Specially, for the junior classes we would try to accommodate the child’s mother tongue as much as possible. 

Is it a Co - education School?

Yes, it is a Co - education school.

What grades do you offer in the School?

The School is having Nursery to 6th standard and every year the school is following the natural progression and adding one class every year. The school is proposed to be a K-10 school 

 
 

Promoters

Who are the promoters of the School?

The School is an initiative of Deepak Foundation, which is spear-headed by Mr C.K. Mehta - (Chairman Deepak Group)
 
Deepak Foundation was set up in 1982 and works in areas of Women and Child Development, Integrated Livelihood Promotion, Disaster Relief and rehabilitation and Integrated Child Development. The foundation has also partnered government and government agencies such as NABARD, Government of India, Department of women and child development, Gujarat & Department of health and family welfare, Gujarat, to name a few, for execution of various social welfare projects.
 
The foundation’s exemplary work has been widely recognized through various awards such as World Bank’s Award for innovative projects(2009), Department of Health and Family Welfare’s felicitation for increasing institutional deliveries in the tribal areas of Vadodara, runners up award - FICCI-SEDF corporate social responsibility award 2005-2006, to name a few.

What curriculum DeepJyoti School follows?

We use a holistic Curriculum developed in-house, by a team of experts.  It is a best practice, progressive curriculum that ensures optimum well-being of our students at all four levels: social, emotional, physical and cognitive. It blends contemporary Indian and International teaching methodologies. The school will be affiliated with ICSE Board.

 
 

Facilities

Does the school have a playground?

The school has its own play-ground. Also, there are separate play areas for Foundation Classes,  which are an extension of the class-rooms in order to promote learning through Play.

What are the facilities available for co-curricular activities?

At DeepJyoti School, co-curricular activities would be an integral part of the School environment. This implies that co-curricular’s would not be something that we would need to look at separately but rather something which is so intricately interwoven with academics, that it would be a way of life for students and faculty at DeepJyoti.

The School has provision for Music and Dance Rooms, performance areas in every class, activity areas on every alternate floor, a huge multipurpose hall along with an entire skip floor to be used for various activities by students.

Before I decide to put my child in, do I get to see the campus and speak to the teachers?

Definitely yes!  But, we would request you to plan your visit only on 1st,3rd, & 4th Saturday with prior appointment from the Admn. Office.

What would be the School policy on volunteering by Parents?

At DeepJyoti School, we not only encourage but actively seek Parental participation in school activities. You are invited to attend a day at your child’s school, be a part of the process and volunteer for any of the umpteen activities at School – Art sessions, Story crafts, sport sessions or any other activity that you would love to be a part of. 

DeepJyoti School has also formed PTA (Parent Teacher Association) to promote understanding and co-operation between parent and teachers for the welfare of children.

 
 

Admissions

What’s the idea behind having lesser number of students in each class?

The idea is to allow for maximum engagement and interaction between teachers and students. We would be practicing 'Differentiated Instructions’ so that each child’s unique needs are taken care of in a way that suits him or her.

Our aim is to empower our teachers so that they can create free flowing and intellectually stimulating classroom experiences.

What about the Teacher-Student ratio?

DeepJyoti School would have a healthy teacher- student ratio that would be in-line with best-practices.

When do admissions open for the session starting April'2016

Admissions for the  academic session 2017-2018 are open

What is the entry age for Nursery ?

Children should have completed the criteria of the Age Rule sent by the Maharastra Government.

Nursery : 3yrs
Jr. K.G : 4yrs
S.K.G : 5yrs
Grade 1 : 6yrs
by 30th September of every ACADEMIC SESSION.

Which classes will you give admissions for?
